What Is the GoodWe ESA Battery?
The GoodWe ESA is an all-in-one battery and inverter system, meaning the battery modules and the hybrid inverter that manages them come in a single cabinet rather than as separate parts you have to match up yourself.
What sets it apart from most fixed-capacity batteries is how it scales. It’s built from 5kWh or 8kWh modules — you can start with one module and add more later, up to six modules on a single-phase system, for a maximum of roughly 48kWh. A three-phase version scales further still, up to around 108kWh, which suits larger homes or properties planning heavy EV charging loads.
Every module uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry, the same family Tesla and most other current-generation batteries use for its stability and long cycle life, rated for over 6,000 charge cycles at 80% capacity.

Because the ESA is modular, hardware pricing scales with how much storage you configure rather than being a single fixed number. As a guide, supply-only pricing for the battery modules currently runs from around $5,000 for a single 8.32kWh module up to roughly $13,000 for a 48kWh multi-module stack (figures current as of August 2026, excludes installation and inverter where a separate one is needed).
